Where My Journey with Music Began

than just a business."
Every journey has a starting point, a spark that ignites a passion and sets a path. For me, the story of Pen + Lens Media, my music photography business, began long before the first artist ever stood in front of my camera. It started with road trips, studio lights, and the quiet hum of creativity.
As a kid, my weekends often meant one thing: hitting the road to Nashville with my mom. She was chasing her dream, a singer with a voice that filled every space, and those trips were her pursuit of it. We’d spend hours in studios, surrounded by songwriting and producing legends, the air thick with anticipation and the magic of creation.
I didn’t realize it then, but I was soaking it all in. The meticulous precision of sound checks, the intimate stories behind the songs that would soon touch countless lives, and the incredible way creativity and chaos came together within those studio walls. It wasn't just about the music; it was about the process, the passion, and the people.
Years later, that early exposure to the vibrant, sometimes gritty, always authentic world of music found its way into my own purpose. That deep-seated love of storytelling, the inherent rhythm of life, and the desire for real, meaningful connection culminated in the birth of Pen + Lens Media.
It’s more than just a business; it’s a continuation of that childhood fascination. Now, I have the immense privilege of working with the artists, coaches, and creatives who are shaping the sound of the South. My lens becomes an extension of my ear, capturing not just images, but the very essence of their artistry and their journey. It’s an honor to help them show up, shine, and share their unique stories with the world.
This journey, rooted in those early Nashville days, is what drives Pen + Lens Media. It’s about celebrating the heart of music, one frame at a time. And it’s a journey that will continue to inspire everything we do here at The Setlist.
